My name is Shelby Alexandra and I reside in Southern California with my husband, Sebastian, + daughter, Sage! We share our home with what I call “The Farm”, which includes 2 bunny children and some glo-fish!
You will normally find me at a local coffee shop working on my business, at a local plant nursery or casually lounging around in my house drinking some green tea and reading some sort of Fantasy Novel! I have many passions, hair of course being the at the top of the list, but I also enjoy creative projects, photography, self care practices and fitness too!

Where it all started…
I knew at a very young age that I wanted to be a Hairdresser. I graduated and was licensed prior to graduating High School. After I was licensed I began my search for my dream salon that would allow me to continue to grow, provide advance education and had a much edgier + upbeat vibe. Toni & Guy was exactly that for me and I began working with them in 2010!
Over the course of seven years I was with Toni & Guy, I was a Haircutting Specialist and an Educator for students + hairdressers all over the world. I even dabbled in Management and Retail Coordination. Working for Toni & Guy gave me all the tools I needed to create and run my own business!
I discontinued my journey with Toni & Guy in 2017, because I had felt that it was time for a change!
Education
My passion with Education started with Toni & Guy and didn’t end there! I began my own Education Classes a few years ago to help Hairstylist’s build their confidence and run the businesses of their dreams. I love creating long lasting relationships with each student I work with, because I one hundred percent believe in community over competition!
Personal growth is not only something I preach but also something I practice in my everyday life and in my business. As a Business Owner I’m always working with my personal Mentors to help build and organize my Business to help service all those that I work with! Being a Salon Owner is hard work, but I wouldn’t change any bit of it for the world!
Hair techniques and methods are constantly evolving within my industry! So as a Specialized Custom Blonding + Hand Tied Extension Artist, I have financially invested in hours of education and worked with some of the best educators in the industry to make sure that I provide the best services and techniques to my guests behind the chair! Education is the most important part of being a Hairdresser and something I like to keep up to date on as much as possible!
My biggest dream
Since day one of Beauty School I had the dream of opening up my own salon, and after 16+ years of being a Hairdresser this dream came true!
October 31, 2018 I became the proud owner of Sugar Plum Salon in Orange County, Ca!
I designed Sugar Plum Salon with nothing but my stylists and clients in mind. Sugar plum is the ultimate relaxing and homey experience where you can leave all of life’s stresses at the door and welcome peace + tranquility! My goal with each guest who walks through my front doors is to make you feel right at home, relaxed and feeling your absolute best!
